Father Joe's Monthly Confessional
An afternoon of confessions --- Tom stopped by my bar to get three packs of Marlboro Red 100’s and asked if I had missed him. He has spent the last 3 months in the hospital after being diagnosed with throat cancer---Tom left and was replaced by Heather. She asked if I remembered her and her husband?, I did not but that didn’t stop her from letting me know that her husband filed for a divorce yesterday and 60 minutes were spent in a weak attempt to console her---Then Kristy and her husband stopped by several times for advice. Their youngest son was getting married in a month and the new bride refused to invite his sister and 2 brothers to the wedding. I'm not getting paid enough.

My Story
A Professional Bartender
I was taught by some of the best bartenders in the area... but I had an attitude. I was faster than most, not as good as some, but always as fast as I needed to be.... it was that damn attitude. I have owned several bars and nightclubs and have worked in the industry coast to coast; from San Diego to Boston and back. I started as an 19 year old Marine working as a part-time bartender in a local strip club; I grew to manage the 2nd club in the country offering male strippers in 1976, and spent 19 years of my life behind the bar, 4 years as an owner, and the last 15 years teaching, serving and writing about bartenders. Currently... I've been working as an Author, Advisor, Advocate... and still a Bartender.
Executive Management
One of my passions is supporting and training bartenders. I have been the President of the Bartender Advisory Group since July of 2014; and currently own Bartender Diaries, a Registered Trademark used for the writing of my books. I have owned and operated 4 mortgage companies, 2 leasing companies, a catering company, a hair salon, 1 nightclub, 2 restaurants, 2 beer bars; and I have held senior management positions from Manager and Senior Vice President to President... but even my wife of forty plus years will say that being a bartender was always my first love... and the only time I was ever truly happy... so now I'm back at it...
